About Us

The Croatian Aikido Federation (HAS) was founded in 2000 and is recognized as the only national aikido federation by the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO). It is a full member of the world’s umbrella Aikido organization – Aikikai, the International Aikido Federation (IAF), and the European Aikido Federation (EAF). The goal of HAS is to promote, develop, and advance the martial art of Aikido in the Republic of Croatia, as well as to achieve other common goals and interests related to Aikido within the territory of the Republic of Croatia.

Because it is non-resistance, it is victorious from the beginning. Those with evil intentions or corrupt thoughts are instantly defeated. Aikido is invincible because it collides with nothing.

A true warrior is invincible because they do not compete against anyone. To defeat means to defeat the mind of confusion that we nurture within ourselves.

To injure an opponent means to injure oneself. Controlling aggression without causing injury is the true art of Aikido. The techniques use four qualities that reflect the nature of our world. Depending on the circumstances, one must be: hard as diamond, flexible as a willow, smoothly flowing like water, and empty like empty space.
